Neptor Systems is a technology company operating from Murcia, Spain, that develops a new layer of water safety for families and facilities.

Born from a real experience, it combines social purpose, physical prototyping, sensing and engineering to turn a universal need into a scalable technological solution.

The problem

Being close doesn't always mean seeing everything.

Human supervision is essential, but it can be limited by distractions, crowded environments or the need to watch several people at once. Neptor aims to add a second technological layer that helps identify an abnormal situation earlier and supports a faster intervention.

The problem in Spain

A silent epidemic.

472 people died from drowning in Spain in 2025, the second-worst figure of the past decade. 47 of them were minors.

Among children, pools are the most common setting: of the 16 minors who died in June 2026, nine drowned in a swimming pool.

June 2026 was the worst month on record in Spain since the National Drowning Report began.

Research lines include the feasibility of incorporating underwater biometrics from the wrist. This research runs in parallel with an architecture that combines immersion, depth, time and movement, avoiding reliance on a single signal.

The origin

Neptor was born after the founder rescued his best friend's three-year-old daughter from a swimming pool. That moment showed him that a critical situation can go unnoticed even with adults nearby. As a father of two daughters, he looked for a solution that could add a second layer of safety for his own family. When he couldn't find one, he decided to start building it.

Prototyping workshop with a 3D printer and electronics.

The project began with research and early prototypes in a home workshop, using 3D printing, electronics and initial testing. Later on, design and prototyping were professionalized together with IDEA Design, in Murcia.

Neptor, Murcia and the ecosystem

Technological innovation developed from Murcia.

NEPTOR SYSTEMS SL has its registered office in Madrid, while the project's management, development, prototyping and testing take place in Murcia. Neptor takes part in the regional innovation and business ecosystem.

The Region of Murcia can become one of the first environments for controlled demonstration and validation of this technology, connecting pools, companies, universities, technology centers and institutions.
